Based In Dubai, Gareth is the lead Film Production Safety and Security Advisor in the region, the owner of Health Safety Emirates FZC and affiliate company Kensington Event & Media Services FZ LLC registered in Abu DhabiGareth’s specific areas of experience include Health & Safety, Security (ATL and Production), EMS management and COVID Infection Prevention & Control and general production risk management. As HOD, Gareth manages department budget, Production compliance and governance regarding local law, production insurance, SAG AFTRA and similar whilst managing production risk daily and ensuring the welfare of cast and crew. Gareth has a proficient understanding of all departments risks and key deliverables and is thus able to positively liaise with Producers and all key stakeholders to ensure the production schedule is maintained without compromising the welfare of the cast and crew or the reputation of the studio. His experience enables him to support all departments within production in particular, stunts, armorers, picture vehicles and SFX.
In addition, Gareth has written operational delivery procedures and protocols for Film Commissions in the Middle East that are compliant with local mandatory regulations and laws whilst meet International Studio benchmark standards and deliverables. A OSHAD qualified practitioner (Abu Dhabi), graduate member of the Institution of Fire Engineers, Technical member of IOSH, a registered member of SIRA for Security, a registered Close Protection officer SIA UK, Range Safety Officer, a registered trainer for Highfield International. (Security Close Protection / Health Safety / First Aid) and a corporate member of the British Bodyguarding Association. Gareth has studied Arabic and currently is qualified at an Intermediate Level in both spoken and written Arabic.
