Rhys Hopkins is an international photographer and filmmaker from Wales based between the UK and Middle East. In 2023 he was granted Golden Visa status with the title of Director, in recognition of work produced over the years that is seen to benefit and contribute to UAE culture.Rhys's work experience spans a wide array of genres. Equally passionate about commercial campaigns and real-life, human-interest stories, he is driven to produce results and form long-lasting relationships with ambitious clients and agencies. Given his passion for travel and culture he is ready to take assignments anywhere in the world.Capable of working seamlessly as a self-shooter or managing a crew, regardless of the size of the production team, Rhys takes a clean, cinematic approach to his work, which has appeared in award winning campaigns, on magazine covers and in printed editorials, across media platforms, billboards and public transport.A naturally creative eye for detail and an intuitive understanding of client's needs, Rhys can contribute to a project from conception through to delivery. He has been commended on many occasions for his professionalism, preparation and efficiency, creating a positive working environment and working under pressure.Prior to working in the media production industry, Rhys was a teacher in Wales and then Ras Al Khaimah; during his teaching career he travelled to Grenada on an educational partnership, as well as carrying out multiple charity fundraising and volunteer trips to Nepal. He also spent time working in Australia as well as a General Manager in the hospitality industry in the UK.Away from work Rhys has a love for his family and his dogs. A lifelong basketballer, musician and traveller who is always seeking the new adventure, experience and knowledge.
