I am a passionate and internationally experience film maker .My primary role as a 1st Assistant Director involves Tracking the progress of filming versus the production schedule, preparation of the shooting schedule and script / storyboard breakdown .Managing cast and crew, and maintaining a level of control on the set. A vital key element of every shoot .. After arriving in the UAE IN 2006 I have been steadily growing and working in the film industry. Working with many of the known and established production houses in the regionI comes from a mixed race family , being born in Germany and being raised in South Africa . Having lived in Los Angeles USA, London UK & Stuttgart Germany finally landing in the UAE and creating a life and a family while proudly calling Dubai home since 2006.
I have worked predominantly as a 1st Assistant Director while sometimes taking the roll of Director .Having been part of the first few major feature film developments in the region , ranging from Ali F Mostafa’s “City of life “ Nawaf al Jinahi’s “ Sea Shadow “ to the most recent DUNE part 2 ,Mission impossible 7/Dead Reckoning , Gran Turismo , 6Underground , Fast & Furious7 , Star Trek Beyond , as well as Star Wars "The Force Awakens” and The Ambush” / Al Kameen During 2013 I spent a large amount of time filming for the"Make a wish Foundation” based in Abu Dhabi under the kind patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Bint Mohamed Bin Saif Al Nahyan .During 2016 I was tasked with creating content for DTCM on an ongoing basis that spanned 7 months . As the "Live Content Director”.Creating many videos and amassing a total upward of 33million views over the time period .Apart from fulfilling the role of 1st Assistant Director I have also been given the responsibility of mentoring young Emirati student interns who had been placed on some of the big Hollywood productions based in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in conjunction with ImageNation and Twofour54/Creativlabs . As well as helping to create many short films projects with students from the region by offering guidance and direction to help grow the young talent.The UAE has given me so much including a wife and 2 children of my own , it would be an honor to give back to this nation by providing a unique skillset and being able to gain recognition for my efforts towards building a brighter future for all the young filmmakers in the region.
