My name is James Grayford and I’m a 1st Assistant Director with experience on various budget levels, genres, and locations. I’ve AD'd films ranging from Indie hit “THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON”, starring Shia Leboeuf, Dakota Johnson and Jon Berenthal, popular Netflix title “HUSH”, Sundance screened features such as the western “OUTLAWS & ANGELS”, coming of age “CAPTAIN ABU RAED”, hard to categorize “THE RAMBLER”, sci-fi “THE SIGNAL” and projects ranging from Nickelodeon to the Hells Angels in places as diverse as Jordan, The Philippines, Romania, Lithuania, Dominican Republic, Mexico and across the United States.
My recent projects include “KILLING FAITH” with Guy Pearce, “THE GERMAN KING” filmed in Africa, “CANARY” filmed in Abu Dhabi,“STRANGE DARLING” filmed in Portland, “DADDIO” starring Sean Penn and Dakota Johnson in New Jersey, the follow up to “PEANUT BUTTER FALCON” called “LOS FRIKIS” shot in the Dominican Republic, “TAURUS” starring Machine Gun Kelly and Ruby Rose, the action film “ROUTE 10” shot in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, the youth novel “MAP OF TINY PERFECT THINGS” in Fairhope, Alabama, Sci-Fi “ALT” in Albuquerque, NM, MMA themed “EMBATTLED” in Birmingham, Alabama, drama “THE POISON ROSE” starring John Travolta and Morgan Freeman, ”GLORIA” starring Julianne Moore and directed by Sebastian Lelio (Oscar Winner For “A FANTASTIC WOMAN”) and “BIGGER” starring Tyler Hoechlin, Julianne Hough, Victoria Justice and Robert Forster.
